Celtic look like they will hold onto their Europa League place after UEFA rejected the appeal bought before them by FC Sion.
The Swiss side originally knocked Celtic out of the competition after beating them 3-1 on aggregate in the qualifying matches, but the Scottish side were reinstated after it was revealed that Sion had fielded ineligible players.
In an attempt to reclaim their place in the Europa League, Sion appealed the UEFA decision but today it has been confirmed that Celtic will compete with Atletico Madrid in the first round on Thursday.
A statement from UEFA read, " The UEFA Appeals Body today rejected FC Sion's appeal against their expulsion from the group stages of this season's Europa League."
