KETTERING TOWN: STIMSON SET FOR POPPIES DEAL

Former Gillingham boss Mark Stimson is on the verge of finalising a deal to make him the new manager of Kettering Town.

Former boss Morell Maison left the Poppies at the beginning of the month and it had been speculated since then that Stimson would take charge. He explains the delay in the official announcement.

"We are very, very close. There are just a couple of things to tie up but I would expect there to be some news in the next 24 hours."

He could take charge of his first Poppies game tomorrow as they meet Tamworth in the league.
