John Wilson, the man who was cleared of assaulting Celtic boss Neil Lennon during a match last season, has been jailed for eight months.
The Heart of Midlothian fan was handed down the sentence as he was found guilty of a 'breach of the peace' during the Celtic vs Hearts match in May.
Wilson invaded the pitch during the game which was aired live on television. He caused a further commotion by shouting and swearing as he approached Lennon in the dugout.
In passing down the sentence Sheriff Fiona Reith said, "A breach of the peace can sometimes be quite a minor crime but sometimes it is not. In this case it was not minor at all, it was serious, and with serious potential consequences in the context of what was already a highly volatile atmosphere in the crowd of over 16,000 football supporters."
