The 19 year old spoke of how he was enjoying his spell at Brunton Park and how happy he was to have agreed the extension.
"I'm really pleased that my loan deal has been extended for another two months as I've really enjoyed my time here so far. It's great to be playing league football as it's far more competitive than playing at reserve level and I'm learning a lot more as a result."
Tavernier has featured in eight league fixtures for the Blues this season and spent three months with Blue Square Premier side Gateshead last term.
