BIRMINGHAM CITY: BLUES OWNER STRANDED

Carson Yeung, Birmingham City's owner, has failed in his bid to leave Hong Kong and travel back to the United Kingdom.

Yeung, who was charged recently with money laundering, has had his appeal to leave the country rejected by the high court. He had planned to visit Britain to oversee Birmingham's Europa League game against Portugal's SC Braga on Thursday.

His lawyer, Clive Grossman expects the businessman to be frustrated at the decision, "The prosecution appealed on the ground that there was a risk that he might not come back. I haven't spoken to him but I would imagine he is disappointed."
