PORT TALBOT TOWN: NEWBOY READY FOR ACTION

New signing Cortez Belle is raring to go for the start of the new Welsh Premier League season and hopes to help the Blues improve on last season's campaign. Speaking to the club’s official website, Belle is looking forward to returning to the Welsh Premier with Port Talbot, after last featuring in the league for Llanelli in 2006-07.

“I’m looking forward to playing in the Welsh Premier League next season and the new re-structuring of it. The whole play-off structure benefits the players,” explained Belle, referring to last year’s new twelve club format.
“I’m looking forward to playing at Port Talbot, hopefully we can all move on together and improve what the club achieved last season,” he added.

Cortez impressed manager Mark Jones during the club’s recent friendly with Aberaman, where he lined up for the opposition. Following an impressive performance, Cortez was invited to play in last Friday’s match with a Cardiff City XI.

“I enjoyed last Friday, the first half went well and in the second half they were fitter than us. I’ve had one training session and two games at Aberaman. I feel ok fitness-wise – more than anything [what I’m missing] is sharpness which I’ll get from playing more games.

“I’m looking forward to working with Mark [Jones]. I’ve spoken to people about him and they’ve all had something positive to say about him. He’s one of the most underrated managers in the league and wherever he has gone, he has done really well on a limited budget.”

Cortez is expected to make his Port Talbot debut at Airbus UK Broughton Saturday. Transport to the game is available for £10 per person – leaving the ground at 7:45am.
