Darlington boss Mark Cooper has urged his players to improve their game for tonights meeting with Fleetwood Town. Even though the Shakers managed an opening day 1-0 victory over Braintree Town, Cooper is adamant that his side will need to better their performance to match the quality of big spenders Fleetwood this evening.
"The players have got to be better, if we play like that again we'll get beat on Tuesday, it's as simple as that. There'll be no DVD shown to the players, they already know they've got to be better, they're not stupid. They've got to work harder and we'll have a change," he said.
Regardless of the victory on Saturday, Cooper is determined not to rest on his laurels and has spoken of his disappointment of the performance, "My so called better players didn't produce enough. I had to change one or two things to grind out a 1-0 win. People who have a good reputation from last season have to raise their level again, all of them."
