Addicks boss Chris Powell has discussed the reported interest from the Premier League club, "I'm led to believe there has been a little bit of interest from Newcastle. Obviously we are dealing with that situation and whether they follow that up with anything concrete."
Providing a firm offer doesn't come in for the 'keeper ahead of the weekend, Elliot will keep his place in the Charlton side as they face Scunthorpe on Saturday.
