Carshalton Athletic captain, David Ray has rebuffed any talk of the squad being under pressure following a series of high profile signings.
Laurent Hamici, Dean McDonald, Francis Quarm and Keiran Murphy and just a few of the new faces at the London club and their additions have prompted many to view the club as credible contenders for the title.
"I think that has been based on people seeing high calibre players coming in and putting two and two together and coming up with five. I have belief in what we're trying to achieve here. It would be brillianrt if we could live up to expectation. But I don't think we need to put any pressure on ourselves because we're a whole new squad," Ray said.
Carshalton begin their Ryman League season on Saturday away at Canvey Island.
