HEREFORD UNITED FC: NEW DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL

Gary Peters has been appointed the new director of football at Hereford United.

The 57 year old, a former Reading, Wimbledon and Fulham player, will be working alongside Bulls manager Jamie Pitman, a fresh challenge Peters is looking forward to.

"Hereford is a great little club with a great past and to be given the chance to shape it's future is something very special. One of my main tasks here is to help Jamie Pitman. I'll only be successful if Jamie and his team are successful, but we've got a tough task ahead which is going to need lots of work and lots of support from the fans."

Peters' playing career came to an end in 1990 when he retired from the game following two seasons with Fulham. Four years later he went into club management with Preston North End before spending four years in charge at Shrewsbury Town, he also had a very short spell with Exeter City sandwiched between the two.
