The Scottish Football League have announced plans to schedule games on a Friday evening for the first time in their history.
In a move which is being billed as a 'pilot project', Aberdeen will host Dunfermline and Morton will travel to Partick Thistle on Friday September 30th.
The Chief Executive of the Scottish Football League, David Longmuir, was thrilled with the move and was looking forward to the project being a success, "We are delighted to have come to a position where Friday night footballl is being given a chance. Following close cooperation and consultation with the Police, the SPL, and the SFA, the SFL are looking to testing the positive impact that Friday night games may have. Our football communities are our lifeblood and we must try to give fans as much choice as possible in when they can watch their team."
