MACCLESFIELD TOWN: VINNY JOINS SOUTHPORT

Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson has sent young striker Vinny Mukendi out on loan to Southport in an attempt to build on his match fitness.

The 19 year old has been restricted to substitute appearances this season despite starting eight games for the Silkmen last year.

Simpson said, "Vinny is still very much part of the squad. But he's not really played a lot of football so far this season so this is a chance for him to go out, improve his match fitness and hopefully bang a few goals in."

Mukendi was recently called up by Wales' intermediate team coach, Brian Flynn to take part in a series of preparation games. Speaking after the announcement Macclesfield's youth team manager John Askey said, "Vinny's an undoubted talent, someone who if he keeps his head down and doesn't get too far ahead of himself can do a long way in the game."
