FOREST GREEN ROVERS: HOCKADAY SNAPS UP TAYLOR

Forest Green Rovers have confirmed the signing of young striker Matty Taylor.

The 21 year old notched 40 goals for his previous club, North Leigh, last season and Rovers' manager David Hockaday will be hoping he can replicate some of that form this term.

"Matty comes from a pro background and is different to what we have already got. He has good movement, is sharp in the box, and is a welcome addition to the squad."

Taylor had been on trial with League Two side Cheltenham Town during the summer but chose Forest Green because of their ambition, "I am delighted to sign for a club who are moving in the right direction," he said.

"I am a fox in the box type of player and always back myself to score goals." he continued.

Taylor started his career as a youngster with Oxford United.
