Purkiss, 27, has featured in all seven of the Blue Square Premier side's league fixtures this term and will now remain with Darlo for a further eight weeks.
Speaking to the club's official website manager Mark Cooper was relieved to secure Purkiss' services, "Ben Purkiss will be signing for another two months. We had other players who could play there, but with the injury to John McReady and Aaron Brown it still leaves us short."
