BANGOR CITY FC: COMMUNITY PITCH APPROVED

Bangor City have had their plans for a community pitch approved by Gwynedd Council.

The club, whose new stadium is currently being built, had applied to the council to include an 'all weather pitch' at the base, this has now been given the go ahead.

The head of the council, Aled Davies discussed the decision, "The development intends to create a 106 x 71. training ground with an Astroturf surface, erect eight poles with floodlights and erect a 2.1m high fence along the coundary of the training ground."

"This development has been implemented in part with the creation of the main ground, creation of an access road and roundabout and other ancillary work." Davies continued.

Bangor City chairman, Dilwyn Jones, was eager to point out the benefits for the community should the pitch get the go ahead, "We want Nantporth to be a real community facility, not just a training pitch for Bangor City players, and something everyone can be proud of."
