MATCH PREVIEW: CHELMSFORD CITY vs FARNBOROUGH 03/01/15


Chelmsford strikers Michael Cheek and Jaanai Gordon will be hoping they can continue with their fine form in the sides fifth game in eleven days.

Chelmsford host Farnborough on the back of two strong away wins against Staines and Ebbsfleet winning 5-3 and 2-0 respectively.

Michael Cheek who is currently placed fifth in the league top scorers with 22 goals and will want to carry on his form alongside loanee Jaanai Gordon who since signing has scored on each of his appearances.

Farnborough sit 18th in the Vanarama Conference South just two points above the relegation places.
Farnborough have only played twice in eleven days compared to Chelmsford who have played four games in eleven days.

Chelmsford against Farnborough is the only league fixture taking place on Saturday, so if the Clarets win they will go third in the league.

MATCH PREVIEW: HAYES & YEADING UNITED vs CHELMSFORD CITY


Saturday brings Conference South football to the York Road stadium in the show of Hayes & Yeading against Chelmsford.

Last Saturday, Chelmsford were able to sneak their way into the play-offs by beating Eastbourne in a tight game 3-2 where the Clarets faithful saw Jason Williams score an injury-time winner to push us into the play-offs.

Hayes & Yeading currently play at a ground-share stadium with Maidenhead United as their new stadium, The Sharda Glass Community Stadium, is still under construction.

Chelmsford are wanting to continue their run of three wins on the trot in the Vanarama South by beating a lowly-placed Hayes & Yeading.

Hayes & Yeading however, are on a poor run of 5 loses in their last five games including a 3-0 loss to now league-leaders Boreham Wood.

The last time Chelmsford played Hayes & Yeading was in November 2014 which saw the sides play out a 1-1 draw in the Skrill South.

MATCH REPORT: CHELMSFORD CITY 2 BATH CITY 1


A goal from Michael Cheek was all that serperated Bath and Chelmsford after Jason Williams and Bath 'keeper, Jason Mellor scored in the first half.

Within thirty-minutes, Jason Williams had scored a goal after a goal-mouth scramble from a Joe Ward corner.

A shock goal from Bath goalkeeper, Jason Mellor scored from his punt up-field which Clarets keeper Bradley Watkins fumbled over the line.

Mark Hawkes made four changes to his Chelmaford team that started against Wealdstone. John Sands, made his first full home-debut after his substitute appearance against Wealdstone after signing recently from Canvey Island, with Michael Cheek dropping to the bench. Leon Redwood was replaced with Nicky Nicolau moved to left-back. Christian Smith took over in midfield as Lee Sawyer moved out to the Left Flank and Southend loanee, Jason Williams returned from injury just after Luke Callendar announces his departure.

Chelmsford broke the dreadlock after Joe Ward fizzed in a corner, which John Sands headed towards the bottom corner however after multiple blocks and deflections, a stab from Jason Williams appeared to have crossed the line. Just.

The visitors then pegged the Clarets back however on the edge of half-term as Bath Keeper Jason Mellor’s punt up the field and after an awkward bounce Clarets shot-stopper Bradley Watkins guided the ball into his own net.

Chris Allen spared City’s embarrasment though when he blasted over at the back post quickly after the restart, ending an exciting move by the Romans.

City however were back in the lead after substitute Michael Cheek headed in at the back post after winger Joe Ward, who was celebrating his fiftieth appearance for the club, got another assist.
Chelmsford City’s 2-1 win ended their 3 game winless run.

MATCH PREVIEW: CHELMSFORD CITY vs BATH CITY

This weekend brings Bath City to Melbourne Park as Chelmsford hope to improve on their recent poor form and Bath want to carry on with their better form.

 Bath City FC, a Somerset based side are on a rise in form after their slow start to the season with two wins. including the 4-0 home thumping against Maidenhead, and two loses in their last five games in the Conference South.

The last times Chelmsford played Bath at home, Chelmsford have won only twice out of five games, a 1-0 win in 2013 and the 4-3 win in 2009.

Chelmsford will have one less player after Luke Callander left on Thursday Evening.
