CARLISLE UNITED: CHANTLER MAKES PERMANENT MOVE

Manchester City youngster Chris Chantler has made his loan move to Carlisle United permanent today, inking an eighteen month contract with the League One side.

The 20 year old initially signed on loan for the Cumbrians in November but has impressed manager Greg Abbott enough in that short period to be handed a long-term deal.

Speaking to the club's official website Abbott said, "Chris is one who we think will develop into a really good footballer."

"He's a player who we think will come in, really find his way and then a little bit further down the line we think he will make a real impact."

Chantler made just one first team appearance for Manchester City after graduating through their youth setup.
