FAN'S VIEW: WHITEHAWK SEASON PREVIEW

Whitehawk fan Andy let us pick his brain on the club's prospects for the new season.

HOW DID YOU FEEL THE 14/15 SEASON WENT FOR YOUR TEAM?

Much better than expected after only just escaping relegation.  Once Steve King had got his own team sorted out, the performances and results just got better and better.  In the end, we just didn't have quite enough to win the play off final in extra time, but it was a great season.

HAVE YOU BEEN IMPRESSED WITH THE ADDITIONS MADE DURING THE SUMMER BREAK?

I don’t think Steve King has finished adding to the squad, but a lot of new players were brought in last season, so there have only been two signings so far.  Winger Danny Stevens already looks a very useful player.  Our captain Paul Lorraine missed virtually all last season with injury, so it will be great to see him back.  Probably the best signing is manager Steve King’s new two year contract.  He knows this league and what’s needed better than most.

ARE THERE ANY FIXTURES THAT YOU'RE PARTICULARLY LOOKING FORWARD TO?

One of our best players last season JP Kissock has moved to Ebbsfleet, so it will be good to see him back at the Enclosed Ground.  We played Basingstoke five times last season and only beat them once, in the play off semi.  They are a good side.  Our matches with Wealdstone have added spice, given the legendary Wealdstone Raider’s (aka Gordon Hill) performance at the Enclosed Ground the season before last.

WHICH OPPOSITION TEAM DO YOU HAVE HIGH HOPES FOR THIS SEASON?

I've already mentioned Basingstoke and Ebbsfleet.  I thought Concord Rangers were really impressive when I saw them last year.  They knock the ball around like we do.

WHICH PLAYERS AMONG YOUR SQUAD SHOULD WE BE LOOKING OUT FOR THIS TERM?

The Hawks had three players in the Conference South team of the season - full backs Nick Arnold and Lee Hills, as well as winger Sam Deering.  Striker Jake Robinson was the fans player of the season.  Our keeper Craig Ross is excellent.

WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'LL END UP AT THE END OF THE SEASON?

Promoted, hopefully as Champions.
