A big thank you goes to MK Dons fan Liam who let us fire some questions in his direction about the upcoming Championship campaign for his club.
HOW DID YOU FEEL THE 14/15 SEASON WENT FOR YOUR TEAM?
Last season was what every dons fan could've dreamed of, beating man united 4-0 and getting promoted summed up a massive success story at stadium MK we were very enjoyable to watch as we played fast paced attacking football and notched over 100 goals. For sure it was arguably the best season we have had in our short history.
HAVE YOU BEEN IMPRESSED WITH THE ADDITIONS MADE DURING THE SUMMER BREAK?
Losing Will Grigg, Dele Alli and Lewis baker was never going to be easy to replace, a lot of Dons fans were worried that are squad would be worse in the championship than league 1 which is a recipe for disaster, however Karl Robinson has made some quality additions in Joe Walsh, Simon Church, Dale Jennings, Cody Cropper, Cristian Benavente, Rob Hall, Sam Gallagher, Matthew Upson and Sergi Aguza. Robbo has added great depth to the squad and has a real balance implemented into the squad. Sam Gallagher looks a real exciting prospect and he and simon church really need to be clinical or we could face the consequences. Benevente and Aguza both came form real Madrid Castilla, and they look exciting, however many times in English football we have seen foreign players flop in England. If we ever needed experience then Matthew Upson is your man and hopefully he can help Kay and Mcfadzean cope with the championship and even put some good displays in himself. Overall all our signings definitely will not be out of place in the championship and some may prove to be the best signings this club have ever made, you just never know in football.
ARE THERE ANY AREAS YOU FEEL STILL NEED STRENGTHENING?
All I would like to see is a holding midfielder, to add depth to the midfield , and a striker who is quick to give us all different types of attacking options as church is hard-working, Gallagher brings the physical edge and a pacey striker would complete a trio of completely different styles of strikers.
ARE THERE ANY FIXTURES THAT YOU'RE PARTICULARLY LOOKING FORWARD TO?
Definitely QPR away for me, I remember when we played them in the FA cup and beat them 4-2 we brought nearly 3000 there and the atmosphere was immense , to be honest as a promoted club we're in a new environment so in that regard I am looking forward to every fixture as it is something different and the stadiums we get to visit such as Hillsborough, eland road etc. will be great football experiences.
WHICH OPPOSITION TEAM DO YOU HAVE HIGH HOPES FOR THIS SEASON?
I do believe Middlesbrough and Derby will be going toe to toe at the top. Both clubs have made some real class signings like downing and Jesse Lingard to name a couple.
WHICH PLAYERS AMONG YOUR SQUAD SHOULD WE BE LOOKING OUT FOR THIS TERM?
Look out for Samir Carruthers, will be playing alongside Darren potter in central midfield. at the end of last season when Alli was injured Carruthers looked class, I genuinely believe he has what it takes to be a star at stadium MK if he can be able to score goals like Alli could then he's our star man as he has everything else in abundance.
WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'LL END UP AT THE END OF THE SEASON?
First season in the championship is always going to be tough so expect us to be hovering around the relegation places for the majority of the season, however Robbo said he wants us to attack, so hopefully that attacking edge will be enough to comfortably be safe and the start of establishing ourselves as a championship football club and push on from there. I think we will finish in 18th place.
