FAN'S VIEW: GILLINGHAM FC SEASON PREVIEW

Gillingham fan Alex gave us a run down on the season ahead for the club.

HOW DID YOU FEEL THE 14/15 SEASON WENT FOR YOUR TEAM?

In the end, I think most Gills fans were happy with the finish. Despite the best efforts of former manager Peter Taylor we ended up mid table and safe, no last day drama. The 'Gang of Four' as they became known, a caretaker management foursome, made us Gillingham again with a bit of spirit before Justin Edinburgh took over. Some good performances after that gave us hope towards the end we make sneak a play-off run but it's was always a very tall order. Mid table was a happy finish.

HAVE YOU BEEN IMPRESSED WITH THE ADDITIONS MADE DURING THE SUMMER BREAK?

Very happy. We've brought in players who have proven their ability at our level as well as some youngsters with potential. It's the way our club needs to go. Especially happy with the additions of Max Ehmer and Brad Garmston - on free transfers! Both were excellent in loan spells last year.

ARE THERE ANY AREAS YOU FEEL STILL NEED STRENGTHENING?

There could still be room for another striker - but hopefully our new additions in Ben Williamson and Rory Donnelly will prove me wrong. Elsewhere we look ok but I expect us to use the loan market to supplement the squad.

ARE THERE ANY FIXTURES THAT YOU'RE PARTICULARLY LOOKING FORWARD TO?

Millwall is always one to look forward to. Grew up with far too many Millwall fans and want to enjoy those fixtures again. I fancy a trip to Wigan as well, a very famous victory against them at the old Wembley in our past may be the reason for that. Burton Albion away, we grew fond of the Pirelli in our League 2 seasons.

WHICH OPPOSITION TEAM DO YOU HAVE HIGH HOPES FOR THIS SEASON?

It's a really open division. Sheffield United and Wigan will obviously be favourites.

WHICH PLAYERS AMONG YOUR SQUAD SHOULD WE BE LOOKING OUT FOR THIS TERM?

Cody McDonald to score 20+ and Bradley Dack to be worth a silly amount of money by January.

WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'LL END UP AT THE END OF THE SEASON?

I'm hoping for a play-off challenge, and it's within our grasp. The thing about League One is its in a lot of teams grasps so mid table could be just as likely.
