FAN'S VIEW: FOREST GREEN ROVERS SEASON PREVIEW

Forest Green Rovers fan Charlie spilled the beans on what he expects for his club ahead of the new campaign.

HOW DID YOU FEEL THE 14/15 SEASON WENT FOR YOUR TEAM?

It was very successful, we achieved our highest ever finish of 5th in the Conference and reached the play-offs for the first time ever in that league, which was very exciting.

HAVE YOU BEEN IMPRESSED WITH THE ADDITIONS MADE DURING THE SUMMER BREAK?

Very. There hasn't been an abundance, but the additions have been shrewd and of a high
quality, with most having experience of getting promoted from the league previously.

ARE THERE ANY AREAS YOU FEEL STILL NEED STRENGTHENING?

I think we have a very strong and competitive squad, but if I could make one signing it would be a defensive midfielder to give extra protection to the back four, especially in the bigger games.

ARE THERE ANY FIXTURES THAT YOU'RE PARTICULARLY LOOKING FORWARD TO?

Easy! Cheltenham Town home and away. We were lucky enough to experience some good
derbies last year versus Bristol Rovers in the league/play-offs and Gloucester City in the FA Cup but I think this would be the biggest! I cannot wait for these games! Games against the
big team like Grimsby and Tranmere should be exciting too.

WHICH OPPOSITION TEAM DO YOU HAVE HIGH HOPES FOR THIS SEASON?

Personally, I think we will be close to winning the league this season, but if its not us I think it will be
between Grimsby and Eastleigh. Both teams have very experienced and strong squads and will be very hard to beat.

WHICH PLAYERS AMONG YOUR SQUAD SHOULD WE BE LOOKING OUT FOR THIS TERM?

It has to be our two strikers: Jon Parkin & Aaron O'Connor. Both have very good
goalscoring records in this league and I think Jon's physical presence plus Aaron's pace will frighten many a defence in the league! Keep an eye on Keanu Marsh-Brown too. Signed from
Barnet in the summer with experience playing at a much higher level, should be a very positive addition to our squad.

WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'LL END UP AT THE END OF THE SEASON?

My heart says 1st but my head says 2nd. I think Grimsby will win the league.
