We spoke to Sean, a fan of everyone's favourite supporter owned club, about FC United Of Manchester's prospects for the new campaign.
HOW DID YOU FEEL THE 14/15 SEASON WENT FOR YOUR TEAM?
Brilliantly! We were champions, promoted to the National League North, got to the FA Trophy 1/4 finals and opened our own ground after a 10 year wait. Apart from our 1st ever season 14/15 has been our best season ever.
HAVE YOU BEEN IMPRESSED WITH THE ADDITIONS MADE DURING THE SUMMER BREAK?
Yes, we've added some quality & experience to the squad in all three areas so hopefully we are in a position to start the season with a bang.
ARE THERE ANY AREAS YOU FEEL STILL NEED STRENGTHENING?
Not really, I am very happy with the squad we have, we were able to keep all but two from the title winning side last year so with the four additions we've made we are looking stronger than we ever have before.
ARE THERE ANY FIXTURES THAT YOU'RE PARTICULARLY LOOKING FORWARD TO?
Yes, I live walking distance from Edgeley Park so the fixtures home & away against Stockport County were the first ones I looked for. They are such a big club that it'll be like playing a league side.
WHICH OPPOSITION TEAM DO YOU HAVE HIGH HOPES FOR THIS SEASON?
I hope Curzon Ashton manage to stay up
WHICH PLAYERS AMONG YOUR SQUAD SHOULD WE BE LOOKING OUT FOR THIS TERM?
Craig Lindfield, he should be playing league football.
WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'LL END UP AT THE END OF THE SEASON?
Lower mid-table but obviously I hope we manage a little higher than that. A good cup run would be nice!
