Colchester United fans will be hoping for a better campaign than 2014/15, here four of them give us their thoughts on the new season. Up first, Steve.
HOW DID YOU FEEL THE 14/15 SEASON WENT FOR YOUR TEAM?
Last season was a huge disappointment as the warning signs were there the previous two seasons. We stayed up by denying Preston automatic promotion on the last day of the season but only after other results had gone our way. It left us celebrating failure once more.
HAVE YOU BEEN IMPRESSED WITH THE ADDITIONS MADE DURING THE SUMMER BREAK?
Darren Ambrose is yet another Ipswich connection so hard to get excited about that arrival. Joe Edwards will be a good replacement for David Fox and if George Elekobi is fit then he will be a good addition. Losing Jacob Murphy after having him on loan last season is a massive blow.
ARE THERE ANY AREAS YOU FEEL STILL NEED STRENGTHENING?
I think we are pretty weak in midfield and up front so not getting overly excited just yet.
ARE THERE ANY FIXTURES THAT YOU'RE PARTICULARLY LOOKING FORWARD TO?
Obviously with Southend getting promoted we have two huge Essex derbies again. They are the two stand out fixtures.
WHICH OPPOSITION TEAM DO YOU HAVE HIGH HOPES FOR THIS SEASON?
I don't hope any of them do well at our expense but I think Wigan, Bradford and Sheffield Utd will take some stopping.
WHICH PLAYERS AMONG YOUR SQUAD SHOULD WE BE LOOKING OUT FOR THIS TERM?
Our youngsters are another year older so hopefully will be that much more aware of the pressures of League One. McCauley Bonne, Sammie Smodicz, Tom Lapslie and Drey Wright could all be targets of bigger teams before the season has finished.
WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'LL END UP AT THE END OF THE SEASON?
I think we will struggle once more but stay up with a little bit less pressure. I'm predicting 17th
David was up next giving his thoughts on the 15/16 campaign.
HOW DID YOU FEEL THE 14/15 SEASON WENT FOR YOUR TEAM?
Honestly, quite bad. We struggled to get a consistent line-up particularly in defence once Frankie Kent was injured. Excellent end to the season helped save us from relegation and we go again.
HAVE YOU BEEN IMPRESSED WITH THE ADDITIONS MADE DURING THE SUMMER BREAK?
Been more impressed with the clear out of a few players and seems Tony Humes now has his players. Experienced strikers with a few signings of players who were on loan last year. Looks a balanced side rather than any wow signings.
ARE THERE ANY AREAS YOU FEEL STILL NEED STRENGTHENING?
No I like the balance, we need to see how the season goes but if I had to be picky I would still like to see a creative central midfielder.
ARE THERE ANY FIXTURES THAT YOU'RE PARTICULARLY LOOKING FORWARD TO?
This a dull answer but it's good to have the derby with Southend back on the fixture list.
WHICH OPPOSITION TEAM DO YOU HAVE HIGH HOPES FOR THIS SEASON?
With the teams that have come down I think a team like Sheffield United should be looking to be in amongst the automatic promotion places. Other than that an open league.
WHICH PLAYERS AMONG YOUR SQUAD SHOULD WE BE LOOKING OUT FOR THIS TERM?
Definitely Sammie Szmodics and Sembie-Ferris, young players with high potential. But for me the star player if fit will be Frankie Kent at centre half, quality player.
WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'LL END UP AT THE END OF THE SEASON?
Be happy with mid-table and hopefully get beyond the first round of the league cup for a change!
Jack was also kind enough to give us his thoughts.
HOW DID YOU FEEL THE 14/15 SEASON WENT FOR YOUR TEAM?
I think that they didn't think it was going be that tricky and we lost multiple from the start.
HAVE YOU BEEN IMPRESSED WITH THE ADDITIONS MADE DURING THE SUMMER BREAK?
Yes we have added to areas we needed to improve from last season and the manager has said he still plans on a couple more transfers.
ARE THERE ANY AREAS YOU FEEL STILL NEED STRENGTHENING?
Striker.
ARE THERE ANY FIXTURES THAT YOU'RE PARTICULARLY LOOKING FORWARD TO?
Southend home and away.
WHICH OPPOSITION TEAM DO YOU HAVE HIGH HOPES FOR THIS SEASON?
Swindon town.
WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'LL END UP AT THE END OF THE SEASON?
12th.
And lastly, but by no means least, Luke spilled his thoughts for us.
HOW DID YOU FEEL THE 14/15 SEASON WENT FOR YOUR TEAM?
Generally we had a poor season although we managed to put a great little run of form together towards the end of the season to survive by the skin of our teeth!
HAVE YOU BEEN IMPRESSED WITH THE ADDITIONS MADE DURING THE SUMMER BREAK?
Yes, I think Humes has done very well given what he's up against in the transfer market, certainly seems to've added some quality, especially in signing Joe Edwards (Yeovil's captain last season) + Darren Ambrose & George Elokobi.
ARE THERE ANY AREAS YOU FEEL STILL NEED STRENGTHENING?
Could do with another striker, season long loan would fit the bill.
ARE THERE ANY FIXTURES THAT YOU'RE PARTICULARLY LOOKING FORWARD TO?
We have our Essex Derby back! Colchester v Southend :-)

I think Sheffield United will be strong.
