"Former Chelmsford City FC and Barnet FC striker Cliff Akurang was declared as the new Heybridge Swifts boss.

Akurang is no stranger to the Swifts fan-base after scoring 24 goals in 16 appearances in the 2005/06 campaign.

Cliff Akurang started his career with youth sides at Chelsea and Luton before gaining Football League experience with Barnet netting 10 times in 48 appearances between 2008 and 2010.
Heybridge Swifts believe that Cliff will be able to lead the Swifts away from the Ryman Divison One North relegation zone whilst setting foundations for further progress.

Chairman Nick Bowyer commented on the arrival of Cliff Akurang “I was very impressed by Cliff’s technical knowledge and his experience in developing the youth. His talent and modern outlook will be fantastic asset to our Football Club.”
