The 29 year old signed for the Scottish Premier League side in November on a six week deal following his release from Norwich City. He made four appearances for Motherwell but has now decided to look elsewhere for first team football.
'Well boss Stuart McCall spoke to the club's official website, "Stephen and I had a good chat today and came to the agreement that he would go and try to find regular first team action elsewhere."
"He was terrific whilst he was here, his atittude was always spot on and we wish him all the best for the future."
