FLEETWOOD TOWN: BLACKPOOL BID REJECTED

Fleetwood Town have confirmed that they have turned down a bid for star striker Jamie Vardy from Championship side Blackpool.

Vardy signed for Fleetwood in the summer from FC Halifax Town and has notched eighteen goals so far this season for the Blue Square Premier club.

His impressive performances and goal-scoring prowess this term have attracted a number of suitors but Town Chairman Andy Pilley is determined to keep him at Highbury Stadium.

"A lot of clubs have made contact and there has been lots and lots of interest in Jamie. The size of the fee is for the clubs to negotiate, but we value Jamie highly."
