KILMARNOCK FC: SHIELS WANTS SON TO STAY

Kilmarnock manager Kenny Shiels looks to be accepting defeat in his aim to keep his son Dean at the club for a longer period.

The 26 year old striker is currently on loan at Killie from Championship side Doncaster but Shiels senior has been in discussions with the South Yorkshire club about extending that deal for a number of weeks now.

He said, "I'm talking away and trying to make some headway, but there is no headway. It's really hard."

The younger Shiels has notched six goals in nineteen games for the Scottish Premier League side and is not guaranteed a place in Rovers' matchday squad should he return following the high profile arrivals of El Hadji Diouf and Herold Goulon.
