The 20 year old was the subject of a bid by the Premier League side this week which has now been accepted by Dundee United. Speaking to the BBC, Hodgson spoke of his desire to add the young midfielder to his ranks.
"Scott Allan is a very talented young Scottish player that we're very keen to sign. We think he'll be a very good player not only for the next few months but also for the future."
Allan's contract with the Terrors expires in the summer.
