ST JOHNSTONE FC: MORRIS RULES HIMSELF OUT

St Johnstone's caretaker boss Jody Morris has taken himself out of the running for the permanent position at McDiarmid Park.

The 32 year old midfielder was placed in temporary charge of the Scottish Premier League side last week after former boss Derek McInnes left to take the reigns at Bristol City.

In an interview with the Saints official website Morris said he is still focussed on his playing career rather than a spell in management, "I still thoroughly enjoy playing and I'm keen to do that for as long as possible. I want to stay in football beyond my playing career but for the moment I want to be out there on the pitch. However, I'll continue to work with Alec for as long as is required until an appointment is made."

St Johnstone Chairman Geoff Brown says there is no rush in appointing McInnes' successor and that the club will take it's time to find the right man.
