In an interview with BBC Solent Adkins confirmed the 36 year old would be out of action for a longer period as medical staff seek to determine the extent of his injury.
"Big Radhi Jaidi is going to have an arthroscopy on Wednesday. He hasn't recovered from the injury he picked up in pre-season so the surgeon will have a little look inside."
Jaidi has yet to feature for Saints in the Championship this season.
