RANGERS: CLUB WITHDRAW CO-OPERATION WITH BBC

Rangers have issued a statement on their official website saying they have no choice but to cease co-operation with the BBC.

In the message the Scottish Premier League side say they feel the BBC has a "negative attitude" towards not just the club in general but also to it's fans.

"Rangers Football Club is withdrawing all co-operation with the BBC as of today. The decision has been taken due to the repeated difficulties the Club has encountered with the BBC this season."

"The Club was forced earlier in the season to suspend co-operation with the BBC over it's serious misrepresentation of the Club manager's position on violence and sectarianism. There have also been other instances where the BBC's reporting on the club's affairs has been neither accurate or fair."

Rangers boss Ally McCoist demanded an apology from the broadcaster earlier this year after he says they mis-represented his comments made about the Old Firm derby. A source close to McCoist at the time said, "He reckons he's been stitched up by someone editing the programme and made to look like he thought the question [about violence] was a joke."
