PLYMOUTH ARGYLE: NO BIDS FOR LECOINTE

Plymouth manager Carl Fletcher says there has been no approach for young striker Matt Lecointe despite media reports linking him with a string of Premier League sides.

The 16 year old has made only two starts for Argyle this season but the staff at Home Park hold him in high regard and Fletcher says he is aware of the potential the youngster has.

"In this day and age if people see a 16 year old played in the first team, whether they've seen him or not, they automatically think he's a great player. Matty has got good potential, he's a nice lad."

National newspapers linked Lecointe with Manchester United and Arsenal during the week but Fletcher is content for the forward to keep building up his match experience at League Two level.

"The situation that we've got here at the minute means there's a lot of opportunities for the young lads because the squad is so small. If they're good enough while they're here and if they're good enough to play then it doesn't matter their age."
