HIBERNIAN FC: O'CONNOR CLEARED OF SIMULATION

Hibernian striker Garry O'Connor has been cleared of diving in their game with St Johnstone last month.

O'Connor had been handed a two match ban following the incident but has now had that overturned, something assistant manager Billy Brown accepts they were fortunate for.

"It was a dive and we got a wee break there. It proved to be the winning goal and that's what made Derek [McInnes, St Johnstone manager] mad, and I would have been the same."

O'Connor stepped up to slot the ball home after being challenged in the area by St Johnstone defender David McCracken, who himself is baffled at the decision by the Scottish FA to overturn the ban.

"My position on this hasn't changed from the moment it happened. I don't think there was any contact between myself and Garry that forced him to do down. If there was any contact it was actually from him on me. If you watch the incident I actually turn my back on him," the St Johnstone defender said.
