FC UNITED OF MANCHESTER: ONE IN, ONE OUT

Karl Marginson has released striker Steve Torpey from his FC United of Manchester contract.

The 30 year old was no longer in the manager's plans and is now on the look out for a new club. Speaking to the club's official website Marginson said it was a tough decision to make.

"He [Torpey] is popular with the fans and everyone at the club thinks the world of him, he has played a big part in our short history. I always want to be honest with players and if I am to make decisions which I think are in the best interests of the club and the playing squad I have to sometimes deliver unpleasant messages."

As Torpey departs, Greg Stones comes into the squad. The 30 year old midfielder is a former Chester and TNS player.
