BLACKPOOL FC: DALGLISH DISCUSSES SHELVEY MOVE

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has spoken of his decision to allow midfielder Jonjo Shelvey to move to Championship side Blackpool on loan.

The youngster switched to Bloomfield Road last week after struggling to hold down a first team place at Anfield, and Dalglish believes the temporary move will benefit the youngster in the long run.

"It's helpful to everybody. Jonjo's a very promising player for us, but the difficulty for us is to get him a game. He needs games and it's a fantastic opportunity for Jonjo to do that. Blackpool have got a good quality player and it's education for us because we'll get to see him play."

Shelvey made a goalscoring debut for the Seasiders against Bristol City at the weekend and he will hope the increased game time, albeit at a lower level, will force Dalglish's hand to include him more often in the Premier League.
