ALFRETON TOWN: BROUGHTON RELEASED

Alfreton Town have confirmed that striker Drewe Broughton has left the club after being sent off for the second time this season in their clash with Grimsby Town at the weekend.

Broughton had only just returned from a three match suspension after being dismissed on his Reds debut against Kidderminster Harriers last month.

Chairman Wayne Bradley said the club had no choice other than to release the player, "We confirm that the actions of Drewe Broughton on Saturday were wholly unacceptable and the club has made a decision to sever relationships with the player."

Following his red card at the weekend Broughton must now sit out four games.
