ACCRINGTON STANLEY: NO FREE GOAL FOR ROVERS

Accrington Stanley have decided against offering Tranmere Rovers a 'free goal' in their Johnstone's Paint Trophy replay tomorrow.

The original tie was abandoned in the first half following an injury to Stanley's on loan defender Tom Bender, with Tranmere 2-1 up.

Assistant manager Jimmy Bell spoke to BBC Radio Lancashire, "It's getting played again at 0-0. We were never looking at that to tell you the truth. I'm not too sure about the rules of the competition anyway, I don't think we would be able to do that."

Bender suffered severe concussion in the incident and is currently back at his parent club Colchester United receiving treatment.
