WORCESTER CITY: STEP CLOSER FOR NEW WORCESTER GROUND?

Worcester City chairman Anthony Hampson has revealed that plans for the sides new stadium will be presented to a council meeting in October.

City currently play their home games at St George's Lane but they have to leave that site by June 2013 as there are plans in place to demolish the ground and replace it with a housing estate.

Despite the news of a hearing before the council next month Hampson has spoken of his doubts and fears as time ebbs away, "Plans for any move from St George's Lane look as far away as ever and it gives me cause for considerable concern."

"We really are starting to come under time pressure."

St George's Lane has played host to Worcester games for over 100 years.
