Shrewsbury Town chairman Roland Wycherley has commented on his side's performance in the Carling Cup last night against Arsenal.
Despite scoring the first goal in the game the Shrews were powerless as the Gunners' second string turned on the class. Arsenal ran out 3-1 victors in the end but Wycherley was proud of his team.
"The performance on the pitch was a great credit to the skill and dedication of the players. They were not over awed by the occasion and with so many young players on show we can be pleased with their contributions. The experience gained by all will hopefully serve as a platform for the future success."
