Parliament has agreed to confer on the 1989 Hillsbrough disaster.
In response to a petition that garnered over 100,000 signatures, a date of October 17th has been set for MPs to debate the possibility of releasing the full government report papers on the incident.
96 people were killed and 766 were injured at the FA Cup semi final match between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest at Sheffield Wednesday's Hillsbrough Stadium.
Steve Rotheram, the MP for Liverpool Walton, said, "This is an issue that will not go away until there is justice for the 96. Within two weeks the e-petition had acquired well over the 100,000 signatures required. The campaign spread far and wide. People from all over the country and people of all different football and political persuasions, came together and said, finally, after 22 years, enough is enough."
