The 23 year old spent three years with the French Ligue 1 side after short, unproductive spells with Crewe Alexandra and Southampton. Royals' boss Brian McDermott says the contract is a chance for Baseya to prove himself in English football.
"He's pleased to come here and it's a deal we're pleased to do. He'll come in and be part of the group of strikers we've got here and we'll see how he develops with us. I'm sure he'll do really well in the next year."
