Micky Adams says he believes his side are just a few additions short of being a promotion winning team.
Vale currently sit in eighth position in the league having taken fourteen points from nine games. They suffered a small set back at the weekend as Shrewsbury came away with a 3-2 victory but Adams is still keen to improve the squad.
"We have to make changes. We're close, but perhaps not as close as I would like to be in terms of a side that wants to achieve what I want to achieve."
"I think we should be closer to the top three and we need to look at the personnel, and that's what I will be doing this week, I hope to bring in new faces."
Adams' need for new players was further enforced this week with reports coming from Vale Park that midfielder Gary Roberts has been suspended for a fortnight following a breach of club discipline. He has scored four goals in nine appearances this term so the side will miss his prescence in midfield.
