Peterborough United will not stand in the way of George Boyd if a higher league club makes an approach for his services. That is according to director of football Barry Fry.
Boyd signed for the Posh from Stevenage in January 2007, for a fee believed to be around £260,000. He has been a potent threat in front of goal since his switch to Darren Ferguson's side and has been a transfer target for a number of clubs over the past few years.
Fry revealed that the club had received bids during the transfer window, but nothing that came close to their his valuation of the player.
"At the minute the bids that we've had have fallen well short of our valuation for him. We hope they continue to do so, but he has had a good start to the season, which could trigger more interest in January. If we get acceptable bids then we will unfortunately keep our word and let him talk to the club in question, but if not then we will gladly have him as part of our squad."
Boyd spent some time on loan with Nottingham Forest during the 2009/10 season but returned to Peterborough soon after.
