Leatherhead manager Mick Sullivan has been relieved of his duties at the Ryman Premier side after just eight games.
Speaking soon after the announcement, club secretary Gerald Darby said, "It has not been an easy decision for us to make but it was done in what everyone felt were the best interests of the club."
Leatherhead are currently propping up the table after six defeats from their opening league fixtures and comments made by chairman Peter Ashdown suggest the players may have had a say in Sullivan's sacking.
"Things were not good between the players and the management, that was a factor not just results. It is always a combination of things when these unfortunate events happen and it is with a heavy heart we had to make this decision but it has not been working out terribly well." he said.
"There were a series of factors which led to it but it is a huge shame and the board met with Mick on a number of occasions to discuss various things, and things were not getting better behind the scenes." Ashdown continued.
