HULL CITY: CLEAN SHEET PLEASES CHESTER

Hull City defender James Chester was happy to have helped his teammates to a third consecutive clean sheet in their clash with Portsmouth at the weekend.

Speaking after the match Chester was pleased with the performance, "I thought we played well and from the moment we kicked off, we put them under pressure in and out of possession. It was a good performance and we could have scored more than one. The win was nothing more than we deserved."

Not only did the result on Saturday bring the Tigers their third consecutive clean sheet, it was also their third consecutive 1-0 victory, pushing them up to eighth position in the Championship.

"The clean sheet was also very pleasing. That's three in a row now and it's what we're paid to do as defenders. It's as good as scoring a goal for us at the back and we're enjoying it at the moment. If you keep a clean sheet, you're not going to lose the game."
