Gainsborough Trinity's caretaker manager, Steve Housham is doing his cause to become the new permanent chief no harm.
Since taking over from Brian Little Housham has lead Trinity to four back to back wins, most recently a 1-0 victory over Nuneaton Town at the weekend.
Speaking to the Lincolnshire Echo chairman Peter Swann discussed Housham's chances at landing the job full time.
"If I don't give Steve the job after this then the fans will be jumping down my throat. But as I have stressed before I am aware new managers have a honeymoon period and I won't rush into a decision."
"Steve is in pole position because of his fantastic record so far. He certainly has an advantage over other candidates because it is in his hands as we speak. It is his to lose."
Prior to Brian Little leaving Gainsborough, Steve Housham was youth team manager at the club.
