The 25 year old has missed five months of action after undergoing surgery on a persistent hip and groin problem, and boss Chris Hughton is happy to have him available for selection again.
"The good news is that Zigic comes into the squad for the first time this season along with Keith Fahey, so that is two pluses for us. In Nikola Zigic we have a player that's missed right through pre-season. He is short of match practice for at this moment is fit and looking to be involved."
The Serbian international scored eight times for the Blues last season, he last competitive outing was a Premier League game against Bolton Wanderers in April.
