The 20 year old has first team experience after spending time on loan with Carlisle United last year and is a Northern Ireland international.
Scunthorpe boss Knill is still on the look out for new additions to his squad ahead of the close of the transfer window, "We are low on numbers. With all the games, we are picking up a few injuries so we need a stronger squad. But we will just have to wait and see. I am looking to strengthen everywhere."
