ROTHERHAM UNITED: OWLS SEE FURTHER BID REJECTED

Sheffield Wednesday have had another bid for Rotherham United striker Adam Le Fondre rejected.

Gary Megson's side seem intent on bringing the forward to Hillsbrough but have up until now failed to meet the valuation set by Millers chairman Tony Stewart.

Wednesday's most recent bid is believed to be in the region of £300,000 and falls well short of the half a million price tag believed to be on Le Fondre's head.

Speaking to the Sheffield Star Megson said, "We have made what I consider to be really good offers for players who are in the last year of their contracts. I don't think the clubs will get that kind of money again for them."

Megson has brought three attackers to Hillsbrough in recent weeks, Chris O'Grady, Danny Uchechi and Ben Marshall, but his continued chasing of Alfie [Adam Le Fondre] leads many to believe he is not happy with his latest additions.

Rotherham on the other hand are under no obligation to sell their star striker, who has notched 4 goals in 4 league appearances this season. Le Fondre is in the final year of his contract but the Millers will be looking to hang onto him beyond the end of the transfer window in the hope he can fire them to promotion.
