The former Southampton and Doncaster Rovers left back is the younger brother of Matt Mills who currently plays in the heart of the defence for Leicester City.
The younger of the two Mills' brothers plays on the left side of defence and midfield and will give Reading manager Brian McDermott more strength in depth as his side struggle to replicate the form they ended last season in.
